R help - Jun 2014 - Using RPostgreSQL

Hi All,

I am using RPostgreSQL to pull data from Greenplum database. I have
successfully connected to the database and am using the following command
to retrieve the first 100 records from a table by the name
"ad_data_new"

s <- dbSendQuery(con, "select * from ad_data_new limit 100")

This is taking more than 15 minutes to execute. The original table has
~100,000 rows. At the current rate, it wouldn't be feasible to pull the
data into R using the above command.

Any suggestions on improving the performance ? Or do you experience the
same performance as well ?

Just to add to the previous message: ad_data_new table has less than 10
columns.
