Hello R-help, I have recently generated some meta-data on SNP variation across whole exomes and I need to begin sorting it into two camps: one in which the alternate allele matches the derived form and one where the alternate allele matches the ancestral form. I have the data saved as a .txt file from its original VCF format. I am a novice at writing my own functions in R, so any help would greatly be appreciated. And if you start to read help pages I strongly recommend to read also 1. Posting guide 2. R intro 3. R data or at least some parts of it. It prevents you from great frustration if you are used to Excel or other similar pieces of software and consider R as another one.
