R help - Aug 2013 - Compiling a C++ file in RStudio?

Hi,

   I am wondering if C++ programs could be compiled in RStudio. I search on
the web, and I find many yes's and no's. It looks like Rcpp can do it
(or
partially?). I just wonder if it can replace the C++ IDE, e.g., Eclipse or
Visual Studio since RStudio is much easier to use.
