R help - Apr 2013 - non-parametric & semi-parametric methods for survey & longitudinal data

Is there a package that provides estimators/measures for non-parametric and
semi-parametric methods for use with survey and longitudinal data? Is there
a book that someone recommends that covers these topics with R examples? My
web-searches have shown few directly relevant papers and very little coded
examples, except that these topics seem to be actively researched by a few
statisticans--- one recent package (REEMtree) was found and another mention
of R software as found related to another applied statistics paper with an
empirical example without any mention of package name. Please help!
