R help - Oct 2012 - the right reference for the R Stats package for a scientific journal

Dear Members list,

I am writing a paper for a research where i used "the R Stats
package". No
one knows the right reference for this package?

At the R prompt run

citation("stats")

This will give you the citation info.

Au contraire, anyone who reads the startup screen knows from:

R is a collaborative project with many contributors.
Type 'contributors()' for more information and
'citation()' on how to cite R or R packages in publications.
