Hi,
use tableName[["columnName"]] without quotes, e.g.
tableName[[columnName]] # see ?"[["
and indexing is done via
x<-length(tableName[[columnName]][tableName[[columnName]] > 6] )
but you may consider
x<-sum(tableName[[columnName]]>6)
which saves some time and typing
