R help - Jan 2011 - problem with constructing bitmap: part of the problem

Hello again.

Libpng version 1.5.0 does not have a scripts/makefile.mingw.

However, Libpng version 1.2.44 does.  That seems to be the snag.

Presumably I should stick with the older version.
