Hi all,
Apologies to people who get more than one of these requests, or who don't go
to the Joint Statistical Meetings.
I'm looking for chairs for about a dozen contributed paper sessions
sponsored
by the ASA section on statistical computing at the Joint Statistical Meetings in
Vancouver this year, Sunday August 1 to Thursday August 5.
The duties of the chair are
- introduce the speakers, pronouncing their names correctly
- make sure the talks don't go over their allotted time.
- if there is time for floor discussion, ensure that at least one question is
asked.
The rewards are also pretty minimal: the gratitude of the ASA and possibly of
the speakers.
