R help - Dec 2008 - Combining two/more data.frame with variable column lengths.

Hi,
i want to combine several data.frames in to one big data.frame. The problem is
that length of the column in each data.frame is diffrent. cbind or rbind dont
work here. i wrote my own function to solve it which really unefficient. If some
has a neat solution, it will be highly appriciated.
 
I am enclosing my TOY example
 
 
 
 Two data frames: (A & B)

i want to simply combine then so the result should look like this:
 
column-1 column-2 column-31 2 a2 3 b3 3 c4 4 g5 7 e     f    g    h    i
 
the unavailabe values in column-1 and 2 can be filled by NA or 0.
