There are quite a few options. If I were you I would have a look at package
locfit:
plot(locfit(y ~ lp(h4, h11), data=res), type="persp", theta=-50,
phi=25,
tick="detailed")
See, amongst other options, ?locfit.raw

PS: Don't worry about the warning messages. They refer to switches that
