There is quite a few discussions on this in the list archives,
particularly on the R-SIG-GUI mailing list.
It would help to know something about your application...
* how complex is it?
* how are the results to be presented?
* is it intended to be used be only a few people in one location, or many?
* what platforms does it need to work on?
etc
but in many cases I think gWidgets is a good choice.
