Diana,
Please read the documentation for functions *before* posting, as the
posting guide asks.
If you look at ?MDSplot you will see two arguments, "palette" and
"pch",
which control the colours and plotting symbols respectively. Ok, the
documentation is terse and there is a presumption that you know how pch
works (it is a graphical parameter documented in ?par), so we might
forgive you asking for help specifying these correctly, but the
Examples: section shows you a solution to your question using these two
arguments.
You will save yourself, and others, a lot of time and effort if you use
the R tools at your disposal to find the help you want, especially when
the author of MDSplot() has gone to the trouble of providing
documentation and relevant examples. These and more are documented in
the posting guide: http://www.r-project.org/posting-guide.html
