[R] Opening Scripts with long paths causes R 2.6.0 to crash
I am running R 2.6.0 on a PC running MS Windows 2000 Professional. After upgrading to this new version of R, I have been having problems opening scripts: opening certain scripts result in R crashing. After some experimentation, I discovered that it is a problem with the number of subdirectories in the path. For example, if the script is located in c:\Documents and Settings\JLusk\Desktop\Projects 07\ the script opens fine. However, if I move the same script into a subdirectory in Projects 07 such as c:\Documents and Settings\JLusk\Desktop\Projects 07\Grouse\ R crashes and closes. I didn't have this problem with R 2.5.1, so was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a fix in the works.
