[R] No Discounts for Springer books (e.g. S Programming)?
Hi, I want to buy the books "Modern applied Statistics with S" and "S Programming". Both are Springer books and according to the "Discount Info" on the page books related to R (http://www.r-project.org/doc/bib/R-books.html) subject to a 20 % discount. Unfortunatley the promotion code doesn't work. I already contacted Springer but didn't get an answer. Does someone know what happened with these discounts? I didn't find anything related in the archives. Thanks and best regards, Hans-Peter -- PS: if someone has a used or redundant copy for sale, don't hesitate to contact me... ;-)

Dear Augustin,> What you have to do is to register in that web page or in Springer Alert, > and when you order the books, the discount is applied to your order > automatically. Thanks a lot, that worked. One has to register and then the discount token is applied. - For the record: Amazon was quite a lot cheaper, so it became a "would have worked"... Thanks again and best regards, Hans-Peter
