You get to see the head (or beginning section) of a vector, data frame or
whatever, which gives you a bit of an idea what it looks like.
It is an idea which comes from the unix operating system commands head and
tail which were particularly useful in examining files in the days before
gui editors and such fancy new-fangled things.
