R help - Mar 2006 - Semi-log plot in R

Dear R helpers,

Is it possible to create a semilog plot in R?
I have been scanning the help archives and manuals and semilog does not 
appear anywhere.
Should i use specific package?

If you mean a plot with one log-scale axis this is what you want:

x = 1:100
y = x^2
plot(x,y, log="y")
