put - before the column id you want to delete.
like this:> a<-data.frame(c(1,2,3), c(4,5,6), c(7,8,9))
> a
c.1..2..3. c.4..5..6. c.7..8..9.
1 1 4 7
2 2 5 8
3 3 6 9> a[,-1]
c.4..5..6. c.7..8..9.
1 4 7
2 5 8
3 6 9
