R help - Mar 2005 - R --max-vsize=4000M --max-nsize=4000M

what's wrong???

i use 32 bit machine.
every time i 'm connecting the server  to do my work with R on it , 
after having done

 > ................
 > R --max-vsize=4000M --max-nsize=4000M

i become  wrong limits specification  for Ncells:

 > .....
 > gc()

is there anything wrong?
