R help - Mar 2005 - How to reply to a posting if I subscribe to the digest version of R-help?

Dear listmembers,

Is there a recommended method of responding to a thread if I am getting the 
mailing list in digest form?

Will the mailing list program automatically match threads if I copy the 
subject from the original posting?
