Hello. The linear mixed model (lme) function has an anova (anova()) function. This anova function has a type argument that can be “marginal”. I understood that this was equivalent to the “type III” (type=ssType3) sum of squares of the ordinary linear model. Is this correct? Specifically, if “fit” is a lme object, and I specify anova(fit,type=”marginal”), so I get the type III sum of squares?
