R help - Aug 2004 - problem with R start up MASS and family?

Dear fellow R-users:

Is this a BUG?

Fatal error: unable to restore saved data in .RData


it goes away if I move .RData to something else and then load it up again.
What gives?

What version of the VR package are you using?  Do you see the problem 
after running update.packages()?
