[R] Seg Fault on R 1.8.1 under linux
This may be known, but if it is not, maybe it is helpful. h<- 1:1000; save(h, file=pipe(">see")); causes a Segmentation fault on my system. The more sensible save(h, file=pipe("cat >see")) hangs. I obviously have everything wrong here, my point is only about suggesting a better error trapping somewhere. regards, /iaw
Yes, save does not check if the connection is a) open for b) binary c) writes. Three missing checks: file = pipe("cat >see", "wb") has a chance of working.
