R help - Apr 2004 - install.packages and warnings

When I install packages from CRAN I sometimes get a hint about warnings:

These are probably indicating many files lacking EOL on the last line. It 
comes from

  echo ".installPackageIndices(\".\",
\"${R_PACKAGE_DIR}\")" | \
    R_DEFAULT_PACKAGES=tools ${R_EXE} --vanilla >/dev/null
  if test ${?} -ne 0; then
    error "installing package indices failed"
    do_exit_on_error
  fi

AFAICS.
