R help - Nov 2003 - (a solution for) plotCI : Disabling X axis labels ?

This work around is sufficient:

par(xaxt="n")
plotCI(....)
par(xaxt="s")
axis(1,at=1:8,labels=xLabels)

I have my own set of labels for the X axis and typically
apply them to other plot modes using:
axis(1,at=1:n,labels=xLabels)

Where n is the number of character strings in xLabels

Is there a parameter to disable plotCI from creating its
default labels for the X axis?
