R help - Aug 2003 - Select intervals of values from a variables.

Hi.
How can i select interval of values from a variables?
I can ordinate my variable and use es.group1<-varx[1:12]
if the limit values are linked to first and 12th 
observation.
There is an easier way?

Is

varx[varx > lower.limit & varx < upper.limit]
