R help - Jun 2003 - Number lines

Hi R People!

Does anyone have a function that produces number lines, please?

It's not a big deal to do, but I thought that I would avoid re-inventing the
wheel, if it's already there.

Actually, I want to do a dotplot  and dotchart just doesn't do it.
