I was trying to read in an spss .por file, but was having difficulties doing so. Is this still a valid operation that R can perform? ps (I did library(foreign, then read.spss("filename") and I get: Error in read.spss("/net/home/morrism/Data/CPS/Por/mar98.por") : Error reading portable-file dictionary. In addition: Warning message: Bad character in date. ) Thanks, Jason - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jason Thomas Graduate Student Dept. of Sociology University of Washington, Seattle method at u.washington.edu http://students.washington.edu/~method -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
