Dear Sir/Madam: Has anyone developed a SAS programming language simulator in R? What would it take to make the R environment able to translate SAS programs into R? As you can appreciate, a simulator like this would make available via Open Source hundreds of SAS third-party add-ons. So everyone could use R instead of SAS without fear of missing out on anything of significance. Spectrum Bioscience has been submitting a series of large proposals to NIH that contain significant biostatistics software development components. If one of these proposals is successful, we might obtain the resources to undertake a SAS simulator project as well as to help out in other ways with R. With my best wishes. Ken Dillon Kenneth J.
