Seemingly ever day there are requests for help posted to the R-list by users running outdated versions of R. Often the `problem'' is solved simply by upgrading. Surely users who are asking others to volunteer their time and expertise can themselves invest the effort to upgrade to the current version first. Does it serve any purpose to devote R-list bandwidth to rehashing bugs and quirks from legacy versions?
