Depending on the definition of "similar", I think you get some of it in package mclust AFAIRemember, the R and S+ versions of mclust have some differences, I think mostly because Insightful had changed (improved?) the original Fraley/Raftery code. Note that Venables and Ripley MASS (p.262-6) also have a somewhat extended example of (normal) mixture fitting.
