I know this is a bit off topic but : I am soon to teach first year stats to mathematicians for the first time in some years. I have used MINITAB in the past for simulation etc but we are now too poor to afford the licence. Being an R enthusiast I am contemplating biting the bullet and using R ab initio ( at present I use it with my third years). I would be grateful for any words of wisdom.
