A few days ago I asked for help to the list about this problem: ------------- Hi all After a trivial install on my Debian system (just gnome-games for my wife!), my R programs decided not to work, since the 'date' library wouldn't load. The message I got is: Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library "/usr/lib/R/library/date/libs/date.so": /usr/lib/R/library/date/libs/date.so: undefined symbol: atexit Error in library(date) : .First.lib failed I've run out of ideas about what may have happened or changed. Do you have any idea or clue about where to find? I use R-base 1.3.0.1, and 'date' is the only package I've installed myself (it has worked properly until today). The rest of packages work flawlessly. ------------- Well, the problem was a flawed version or libc6 in Debian unstable. Once I've upgraded to the immediately released new version, all went back to normality. I let you know just in case someone of you ran into the same problem. Thanks a lot to all of you who helped me!
