[R] nlme and "Mixed- Effects Models..." in Windows
(windows 98, R 1.2.3, ESS 5.1.18, nlme 3.1 from CRAN) Dear R users, I am trying to follow Pinheiro and Bates book ("Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS"). I downloaded the nlme package from CRAN, and unzipped all the data and help files. Unfortunately, I cannot generate the figures in the book. For instance, their appears to be no plot.design or intervals plotting functions. Have these and other things not yet been impoemented in R? TIA, Henry Dr. M. Henry H. Many of the graphics functions rely on Trellis graphics in S-PLUS. R should actually be getting similar graphics Real Soon Now, but currently they're not implemented. -thomas Thomas Lumley Asst. They rely heavily on the trellis graphics functions in S-PLUS. The good news is that lattice, the R implementation of the trellis graphics style, should show up in the src/Devel section on CRAN "soon". Deepayan Sarkar's <deepayan at stat.wisc.edu> implementation of lattice is ready to go but it depends on Paul Murrell's grid package that is still being developed. Once lattice is available, (most of?) the figures in our book will be available in R. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
