Dear All: I'm new to R, though I've used S+ on Windows. Since now I'm working on a SGI, I would like to switch to R. I'm trying to install R v.0.64.1 on a Silicon Graphics R5000 under IRIX 6.3, 180 MHz, 128 Mb RAM, but ran into some problems. When I do the ./configure everything goes well, but when I do the make I get the following error: ld: ERROR 33: Unresolved text symbol "__builtin_alignof" -- 1st referenced by errors.o. ld: INFO 60: Output file removed because of error. make[2]: *** [../../bin/R.binary] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/abiusers/people/erocha/RHOME/src/main' make[1]: *** [R] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/abiusers/people/erocha/RHOME/src' make: *** [R] Error 1 I have switched from my native make to GNU make, I use gcc, and have also made the changements suggested by George White in the Mathlib.h file (the so-called SGI madness ). Nevertheless I cannot pass through this point... Does anyone have an idea on how to correct this? Thanks in advance, Eduardo Rocha PS- I also tried the version 64.0, but had the same error. -- ####################################################################### Eduardo Rocha Institut Pasteur, Unite Regulation de l'Expression Genetique & Universite Paris VI, Atelier de Bioinformatique erocha at abi.snv.jussieu.fr Tel/Fax:(33-1) 44 27 65 36 / 44 27 63 12 ####################################################################### -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
