Alvaro, The Postscript output from R will produce output as good as your printer. It is best to have a printer with a Postscript interpreter built in, as the software conversions often found in Windows printer drivers can be pretty wobbly. One advantage of R Postscript is that it doesn't tack a Postscript reset (^D) on the end of every file. As for word processors which handle Postscript inclusions, WordPerfect for DOS (haven't got my Linux version yet) is the best I have used, and RedHat's Applixware Words (for Linux) will also do it, although not quite as neatly. Microsoft Word will sometimes do it, sometimes not, although I have not used it for a while, and they may(?) have fixed it. I think almost any Macintosh application will handle Postscript, although I can't speak from experience. Obviously, you have to have a Postscript interpreter somewhere between your application and the paper. I've found that converting Postscript images to other formats (PCX, TIFF, etc.) almost always degrades the print quality.
