So, there still is no "R beta" around....
- If I didn't know R, would I use a statistics software, if it was still
in alpha testing state?
- Is this really what we want to tell people about R?
More to the point:

OK thanks
(I added main() {} as per FAQ and I got the dynload to build a dll ok)
I am also interested in building the R sources as per your descriptions.
To simplify things, I have removed b18 cygwin and have now installed
egcs-mingw32 with your djtools as recommended.
Everything seems to work OK; tools that

R-0.63.3 package on IRIX 6.5 machine (PR#145)
Hi,
I installed R-0.63.3 version on SGI machine running
IRIX 6.5.
Machine details:
319 <mind.krasnow.gmu.edu:R-0.63.3> uname -a
IRIX64 mind 6.5 07271714 IP27
I used gcc (egcs1.1.1) and g77 combination.
I use the GNU make rather than the sgi make.
I went through your help mailing list and found that
I have to edit the Mathlib.h file in src/include directory
to undefine certain definitions

R-beta: scripting with R?
I've been playing with R for a while using emacs ESS. I've started to
like it a
lot ( the beautiful S language was unknown to me before I dumped into R)
I want to make some scripts to automate the display of some statistics
on web pages. I started to look for ways of using R in a scripting
environment
but I could not find information on this. Is there a way to call R with
command prompt

R-alpha: RData in batch
Just a word to mention that I have lost 2 hours yesterday to find out why
R refused to use a function from a package calling C-code.
R invariably answered that the C code was not in the load table (something
like this). I have tried everything (or nearly) to solve my problem
knowing that this same package used to work on my computer at the
university.
Finally, I found out that running the same

Windows 3.1 and Samba
Has anybody got some experience with connecting machines running Windows3.1
or WfWG (3.11) to Samba? We would like to run a small lab network with
user accounts and a shared printer off the samba box. Samba is running fine
and there's no problem to connect to it from the Win95/WinNT machines...
Any help appreciated.

R-0.61.1 compiled with egcs-mingw32
I have made available the work of the last weekend that I mentioned
in my previous messages on ftp://sirio.stat.unipd.it/pub/R.
Many thanks to Peter D. and Ross I. for their suggestions.
If you think that the work is of some interest, I can upload it
to CRAN.
