[Puppet Users] Multiple file path for single module in the fileserver.conf
Is it possible to have multiple file paths defined for a single module in the fileserver.conf? For example [files] path /first/path/files path /second/path/files allow * [modules] allow * [plugins] allow * The here described configuration did not work as i tried it already. Any idea if this is possible. Thanks a lot Christian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Hi, Don''t think that is possible. At least the docs dont mention it. http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/file_serving.html Cheers, Den On 13/04/2011, at 0:44, Christian <berwangerchristian@googlemail.com> wrote:> Is it possible to have multiple file paths defined for a single module > in the fileserver.conf? > > For example > > [files] > path /first/path/files > path /second/path/files > allow * > > [modules] > allow * > > [plugins] > allow * > > > The here described configuration did not work as i tried it already. > Any idea if this is possible. > > Thanks a lot > > Christian > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. > To post to this group, send email to puppet-users@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to puppet-users+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/puppet-users?hl=en. >-- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. You probably want to be able to serve files from each tree. But what if both trees contain files with identical names? [Puppet Users] Re: Multiple file path for single module in the fileserver.conf
Yeah i have two repositories with different kind of configuration which are managed under different responsiblity. But from the logical point of view they belonging to the same module. There could be a kind of priorisation that the in case of a clash only the file from the first file location should be taken. Is there an interest on a change request? As a workaround i probably will simply create two separated modules. As for submitting a change request...speaking for myself, I see a lot of semantical muddling going on. No offense, but if I were a developer, I would probably reject that ;-) Regards, Felix -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group.
