Puppet users - Sep 2007 - use dns domain for certificate

Hi,

I''ve noticed that facter.domain under linux returns the dnsdomain, and
under
solaris it returns the LDAP/NIS domain, as this it self is not a problem, I
was assuming that puppet first certificate request is based on that fact.

as this is not big issue, I would prefer that puppet will request the
certificate with the dns name and not the LDAP domain name... any idea how
to implement that?

There''s currently no way to tell facter which fqdn source you prefer,  
although that''s something I''d like to support at some point.

For now, you can start your clients with --fqdn <name> to specify  
which name you''d like to use.  Note that this was broken in some  
releases, but it should generally work.
