NUT 2.6.5-4 Eaton 3S550 Windows 7 Pro x64 usbhid-ups is crashing if it is started without debugging. This UPS worked fine on my test system with the same OS, but since moving it to the system where it will be used, it's refusing to function with NUT. NUT or this particular UPS+NUT doesn't like the USB 3.0 port it was plugged into. It's all good now after I moved it to a USB 2.0 port.
