[Nut-upsdev] Re: NUT works with more ActivePower UPSes
Hello Tomasz, first, thanks for your feedback.> First of all, I want thank you for excellent NUT software :) It saved myass> from BIG pain :) > > I want to confirm that NUT works with ActivePower UPSes (ActivePower isPolish> company). I have two machines: > > 1st machine: > * mainboard: Asus ATX with Intel Celeron 2.53 GHz, > * OS: openSUSE 10.1, > * kernel: 2.6.16.21-0.13-default, > * UPS: ActivePower 400 connected to /dev/ttyS0, > * NUT: 2.04 (RPM version), > * NUT driver: megatec (mustek works also), > * KNutClient 0.9 (RPM version) > > 2nd machine: > * mainboard: Tyan Tiger K8S with two AMD Opteron 248 2.2 GHz, > * OS: RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0, > * kernel: 2.4.21-47.0.1.ELsmp, > * UPS: ActivePower 2000 connected to /dev/ttyS0, > * NUT: 2.04 (RPM version), > * NUT driver: megatec (mustek works also) > > KNutClient monitors both UPSes and works perfectly. I hope my e-mail help youextending> working UPSes and drivers list :) If you need more informations, justdrop me> an e-mail ;) In April or May I plan to check if ActivePower 400 workswith> NUT on FreeBSD (and maybe OpenBSD) boxes.Kudos goes to Carlos Rodrigues, for his excellent work on the megatec driver, and to Daniel Prynych, for his excellent work too on KNutClient. @Carlos: I've added these 2 models to the drivers.list (both in trunk and Testing). About *BSD support, I'm very confident since the only problem we're facing on these systems is USB related... And megatec is a serial driver, though a megatec_usb driver is under heavy development...
