Bug#501087: nut: support for a tripplite avr750u

problem with output voltage on a mustek ups
.... I use nut 2.2.1 with the megatec driver on Debian Lenny (testing), running on an AMD64 X2. (I was using a Debian Etch as slave, but to keep it simple I turned it off) My problem is that sometimes the UPS is running OK, but when the message "UPS is trimming incoming voltage" appears on knutclient (i.e. OL TRIM in nut), I have something like Input Voltage 241.1 Output Voltage 202.0 nominal 220.0 ??? This output voltage is too low! I think power spikes may be better than using this voltage. I don't know if the problem is the UPS or from communication with it. Can you please help me...

[UPS on Serial vs. USB] USB slow to update, serial instant.
When I disconnect my UPS from the wall, I have to wait 15-30 seconds before the USB drier 'polls' this information and tells me that the UPS is on battery power (via knutclient or syslog via nut): ups@p34 POWER ALERT on Fri Jan 26 12:49:29 EST 2007 With a serial connection, I would get the alerts IMMEDIATELY (0.5-1 seconds) after disconnecting the UPS. My new machine does not have a serial port built-in, only a serial header, and of course does not come with an incl...

GUI client?
It's very nice to see that NUT now supports my Belkin Universal UPS. Great work! Now I'm wondering if there's a GUI client that will build/run on a modern distribution. KNutClient requires an outdated version of Qt, and the "UPS Monitor" link leads to a Spanish error page. Windows Nut Client supporting hibernate.
I am aware of 2 windows nut clients both interestingly called winnut. One (winnut 2.0.0b) is a service based client based on a port of the but client code (I think). The other is a GUI client based on (I think again) on knutclient . I have corresponded with both authors about a feature request - to allow the shut-down action to be (optionally) a windows hibernate. This seems a very desirable feature for unattended shut-downs - and removes the risk of losing open files. The GUI client now supports this feature - but the...

multiple machines
Hi - I have 5 Linux servers connected to 1 SmartUPS 2200 VA. The software from APC for Linux requires a Windows machine be present on the network as a server in order to manage the Linux machines. This is a show stopper for us since we don't have access to any Windows machines. My first impression of NUT is it can shutdown the machine connected to the UPS via the serial cable but it

nut suddenly stopped working...
I almost had nut_2.0.5-3_i386.deb (from http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/nut - installed via dpkg, not via repository) working: * problems with getting it to come up during boot * monitoring via knutclient was OK * shutdown on low battery worked adequately, if not quite as described) and newhidups suddenly stopped talking to my Belkin F6C550-AVR . It's only been in use for a couple of months, so I doubt it's a hardware problem. And in general, the USB setup works, my printer runs just fine...

mge pc 675 does not work with usb-hidups
On opensuse 10.3, i installed nut and configured my ups.conf like i did it on opensuse 10.2 by putting (10.3 , nut 2.2.0): [MGEpc675] driver = usbhid-ups port = auto desc = "MGEpc675" instead of (10.2 , nut 2.0.4) : [MGEpc675] driver = newhidups port = auto desc = "MGEpc675" But it doesn't work. It appears that upsdrvctl

Openups patch proposal (KDE, etc.)
...of the latter. That bridge code no longer exists. However someone could probably write a NUT client that does something similar: connect to a running upsd, and publish UPS information via DBus. I am not volunteering, but it does sound like an interesting idea. In the near term, you might consider KNutClient <http://knut.prynych.cz> or NUT-Monitor <http://www.lestat.st/en/informatique/projets/nut-monitor>.

GUI on Ubuntu
Pardon the naive question, but I'm obviously missing something. I'm running the tools in standalone mode on Ubuntu 14.04. All is working well. upsc nicely shows me all the status info from command line. What I'm missing is how to get the GUI display.

Character-encoding in code and docs
Hi fellows, are there any policy on character-encoding in this project? The upscode2 driver did originally contain some nordic letters encoded in latin-1 (?, ?), but these have now transformed into garbage. I would like to restore these, but in what encoding? UTF-8? /Niels -- Niels Baggesen - @home - ?rhus - Denmark - nba@users.sourceforge.net The purpose of computing is insight, not numbers

Powercom issues in NUT (was: PowerCom BNT2000AT ups on nut 2.6.0 - second try)
Dino, Alexey, there are a number of users suffering issues with your Powercom devices. Could you (Dino, and Keven if possible) please have a look at the below one, from Angela, and check for a fix? I've scheduled to release 2.6.1 next week, and having that fixed is part of the list. 2011/5/16 Angela Williams <angierfw at gmail.com> > Hi All > > On Friday 13 May 2011 at

Tripplite UPS
Leslie, This message is most appropriate for the NUT user list. I kept Rik Faith's and Nicholas Kain's copyright information because the tripplite_usb driver borrows heavily from the tripplite (serial) driver, but they are not responsible for the mess that I made in the USB driver. See below. On Dec 28, 2008, at 5:28 PM, Lelsie Rhorer wrote: > Gentlemen, > >

ups question from your web site
Dear Nick, thanks for writing. I no longer work on development of UPS drivers; you will probably get a more up-to-date answer from the nut-upsuser mailing list (cc'd). I don't know if the Back-UPS 550 has similar commands to the Back-UPS ES 650. If it has a USB connection, then the answer is probably yes. The UPS will automatically turn itself back on after a power failure; this is the
