[Logcheck-devel] Bug#252556: Logcheck upgrade/install error using apt-get
Package: logcheck Version: 1.2.21 System details: Kernel: Linux <host> 2.4.23 #1 SMP Tue Jan 6 18:06:18 PST 2004 i686 GNU/Linux Shared C library version: 2.3.2.ds1-13 Problem: While performing a regular apt-get upgrade, I received an error when apt was attempting to upgrade logcheck. Here are the details: ------------------------- #apt-get upgrade The following packages have unmet dependencies: logcheck: Depends: logcheck-database (= 1.2.21) but 1.2.20a is installed Unpacking replacement logcheck-database ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/logcheck-database_1.2.21_all.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/etc/logcheck/violations.ignore.d/logcheck-sendmail', which is also in package sendmail dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/logcheck-database_1.2.21_all.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) -------------------------- I removed the package and attempted to do a re-install, but received a similar error: --------------------- totally:/etc# apt-get install logcheck Reading Package Lists...
