I'm running the newer version of logcheck on woody systems at work with just a private version of run-parts from unstable. hey! here on university from the library terminals $ cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Linux release 8.0 (Psyche) $ mktemp -d -p tmp logcheck.XXXXXXXX mktemp: invalid option -- p Usage: mktemp [-d] [-q] [-u] template the man mktemp of this rh release dates from November, 20, 1996. /me is curious on which system did you try logcheck. -- Maximilian Attems
