HI all, What is best way to be limited upload speed from LAN users. I read that it is possible to be done with IMQ interface or with limitation over gateway interface of router(eth0 in my "scheme"), but i cannot chose what is preferred way and need from advice. Please for advise, any example scripts or URL with tutorial are welcome :) I read couple times Linux Traffic Control. ----------------------------- Internet ISP --------| eth0 eth1 |------- LOCAL LAN ----------------------------- Best regards Emo _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo/lartc HOWTO: http://lartc.org/
we''re doing it over the eth0.. i mean anything that comes from eth1 (upload) is shaped on eth0 when it would leave the router/shaper, and downloads (coming in on eth0) are shaped when it gets router to the users on eth1. Both are using HTB and it works just perfectly fine. -diab - diab et> What is best way to be limited upload speed from LAN users. If LARTC wasn''t enough or too detailed, try Wondershaper. http://omg.wp.gg/wshaper-howto/ Stephan -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: lartc-admin@mailman.ds9a.nl [mailto:lartc-admin@mailman.ds9a.nl] Im Auftrag von emo terziev Gesendet: Montag, 4. small kernel distro recommendations for QoS box
Hello All. I''ve built some boxes for QoS that work wonderfully. Much thanks to everyone''s work on this project. Citrix + Videoconferencing are working great. Thing is, I''d really like to not rely on the old 4GB drives in these machines. I would like to build a kernel small enough to put on a 32 or 64 MB flash (compressed). Fedora Core 1, minimal install + bridge-utils is still around 500 MB (will probably be about 1/3 that compressed). TIA -Ron
Why not try LEAF or Embedian? I use LEAF and it works well. Will take you a while to get used to it as opposed to standard RH kind of distro. The LEAF site is pretty good. I can also help you offlist, if need be. I''m also the maintainer of the QoS and bridging chapters on the LEAF Users Guide. Warm regards Mohan ________________________________ From: lartc-admin@mailman.ds9a.nl [mailto:lartc-admin@mailman.ds9a.nl] On Behalf Of rsenykoff@harrislogic.com Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 8:45 PM To: lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl Subject: [LARTC] small kernel distro recommendations for QoS box Hello All. I''m not really interested in the Shorewall functionality of it. Feel free to contact me personally as we''re now getting off-topic for this forum. Thanks! -Ron
