LARTC - May 2004 - HTB Web server lag

Hi

     I am runnning redhat 9 (2.4.20-8) I am using HTB (Sorry dont know 
version) and am also running a web server on the same machine.  When I pass 
alot of traffic through the box it slows down the box ability to contact 
devices on the lan and also devices trying to contact the web server on that 
same box, even though  i have SFQ as leaf off the deafult. For example the 
NFS mounts onto the box are slowed so `ls` is slow.  My default class is 
512Kbit DS 256Kbit US. I remembering reading about this before but cannot 
find the post now.  I have looked on the HTB site but cannot find a bug 
report. I will post my tc script but I think one of you will of heard of 
this before.

Most likely you''re putting your local traffic into the same class
as your internet traffic. Thus your LAN gets shaped to an awfully
slow 512/256 kbit.

Check out the thread ''Bandwidth thinking error'' (2004-05-12).
This isn''t really a bug.

If that doesn''t seem to be the problem, give more detailed information
about your setup.
