[LLVMdev] Export maps and -fvisibility-inlines-hidden
Apologies for the cross-post, this effects both clang and llvm.
I was looking into the startup time of clang on small files
(
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/cfe-commits/Week-of-Mon-20080818/007171.html
)
and discovered that a significant amount of our startup time was being
spent in the linker resolving weak symbols. At least on Darwin, this was
actually the dominant factor in our startup

DirectX/DirektShow/VfW confusion runnning wine
Is anybody out there who has ever tried to install any kind of DV-Codec
running wine to process dv/avi files generated by Kino/Cinelerra
(like using TMPEG for compression) and is interested in sharing
experiences?
I'm just asking before posting to the list...
On my side, TMPEG/VirtualDub work like a charme for most formats, but i
can't get the lil' bastard to open dv-stuff.

Runnning R remotely
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to help. I am trying to run R on a
remote machine, part of the model run I am attempting writes an external
file output as a png (about 48 iterations per model run). I am running R
1.9.1 on SuSe9.0, and am accessing this via ssh from a Debian machine.
Initially I used the command ssh -X IP.address and whilst I was able to
run the model successfully the

This is on a RUNNNING server.
My aim was to make some pass on the running server, then stop it and
make a last pass to finish the process.
Is dsync supposed to run only on a stopped server ?
Is my approach totally wrong ?

Problem with invoking R from the command line (Windows Vista)
Dear all
I am running in a problem when trying to run R from Windows command line.
I am runnning Windows Vista, R-2.10.1.
I have a script I would like to run remotely from another program. As it did
not work, I thought I would test the script from the Windows command line
which highlighted a problem.
When I open the command line and type R at the prompt (or any other variant

and quit R.
Does anybody have an idea of what it means - what I can do
to fix it ?, is it annoying only for the demos or for runnning
other R functions as well ?
another question : I have to deal with large Matrices (usually
1000*600 or more) is R suited for that ?
thanks in advance

Scheduler Parameters
Hi,
I have a naive question with the xen BVT scheduler.
Supposing I have only one guest domain runnning on domain 0 and with
the xm bvt command I have allocated cpu units in the ratio 9:1 to
domain 0 and domain 1(say) respectively.
Now I create another guest domain. How much CPU share it (or
subsequent domains created after it) will get?

Testing kernel and xfs/netatalk
...k, but doing away with xfs would require a
substantial amount of work.
Questions:
1: In reading the archive of this list there was a post regarding the
kernel in the Testing repo supporting xfs. Is this the case and if so,
would it be a "bad idea" to run that kernel without essentially runnning
a test box using all packages from the testing repo?
2: Does the same kernel include netatalk support? It would be easier to
leave the netatalk in place if that were so.
3: Should I just bite the bullet and get rid of the xfs? I'm not sure
what predicated the choice of filesystem in the first p...

I think this output shows that the fxp0 interface is on simplex mode.
The voice degradation I referred was by using xlite soft phone. I open 2
line similtaneously and dial to FWD and back to my incoming extension.
Xlite is runnning on a w2k box with realtek 100M nic in auto mode. I can
bearly hear the welcome message.
