[compiz] compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
Hi Since a few days compiz fails to start on my system. It bails out with the message: compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work. compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 I'm using Ubuntu Edgy with the beta nvidia drivers and a recent git checkout of compiz. I read somewhere, that this error could be related to mesa somehow. dpkg -l | grep mesa gives me this result: ii libgl1-mesa-dev 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 A free implementation of the OpenGL API -- G ii libgl1-mesa-dri 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 A free implementation of the OpenGL API -- D ii libgl1-mesa-glx 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 A free implementation of the OpenGL API -- G ii libglu1-mesa 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libglu1-mesa-dev 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 The OpenGL utility library -- development su ii mesa-common-dev 6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3 Developer documentation for Mesa ii mesa-utils 6.3.2-1ubuntu1 Miscellaneous Mesa GL utilities Any help? [compiz] Re: compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
Hi Fabio,
I have the same problem I solved it by using drirc
command found here
http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/ConfigurationInfrastructure
Or create a file in /etc called drirc and type this
<driconf>
<device screen="0" driver="name of your driver
here">
<application name="all">
<option name="allow_large_textures"
value="2" />
</application>
</device>
</driconf>
However once I got that error message removed I just
keep getting compiz cannot bind to texture message all
the time.
I am running opensuse 10.1 and have done an update
from software.opensuse.org/download/xorg7. Since they
upgraded to xorg 7.2 RC 1 compiz stopped working on
AIGLX, I just get the white screen.
Hopefully this will get fixed soon as many users are
having this problem.
Regards
Deni
