[CentOS] Hardware compatibility IM-945GC Intel Atom Mini-ITX
Can this MB be used with Centos 4 (or 5)? For reference: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/ms_9832 I don't think we can use this new MB since the Realtek 8111C does not seem to be supported (well) http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/8111c-nic-revision-ep45-27089/ -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - - - Jason Pyeron PD Inc. http://www.pdinc.us - - Principal Consultant 10 West 24th Street #100 - - +1 (443) 269-1555 x333 Baltimore, Maryland 21218 - - - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This message is copyright PD Inc, subject to license 20080407P00.

If you are a customer of logicsupply maybe you can get them to test one of those boards, after they receive them, with a CentOS Live CD, to see if everything works properly. <snip. Going back to the first days of January, when I thought the mainboard in my Desktop box needed to be repaired or replaced, first I looked at an MSI board in the store where the motherboard repairman is. Then, at a Biostar. I went to the web sites of both manufacturers. From Biostar, I was able to download their manuals, etc., which I like a lot. No experience with either company and not with that technology. Dell put a FoxConn mainboard in this Dell Dimension and I noticed that one of our other Dell Dimensions has a FoxConn PSU. Many people here on this list can give you much better data, but do check out the web sites of the mainboard OEMs you are interested in. Hopefully, some people here will recommend HW for you.

Realtek nics are crap anyway, but given the mobo, I don't think critical availability is your primary need. jlc
