R1000 Driver for RTL8110SC NIC on Biostar I945G-M7
...'ve posted this in the forums but it looks like all the action for CentOS really happens here on the mailing list. Plus I hope this might help some other lost soul since google failed to connect this motherboard to *any* mention of the r1000. I thought I found a great little motherboard in the Biostar I945G-M7 V.2 for a new HD-capable MythTV frontend box I'm putting together. Imagine my dismay when the CentOS 4.4 installer did not recognize the on-board NIC. I haven't had this happen for *years* when installing on new hardware. Biostar's documentation (*and* their tech-support!) st...

OT: (a) Biostar or MSI mainboard? (b) all Celeron CPU's OK?
...he mainboard repaired (and the PSU, if it is also having problems), and if so, I will give this one to my Stepson and go the bare bones box route and have a more powerful box for myself. I looked at two (2) very low end Desktop mainboards in the store. The one that seems the most interesting is the Biostar P4M890-M7 TE (a Socket LGA 775 board). If possible, I would like to verify that CentOS 5 (32 bit) will work properly, out of the box, or with very simple changes. The Chipset is shown as VIA P4M890/VT8237A. The Graphic chip is shown as Unichrome Pro I GP. The NIC chip shown as Realtek RTL8201CL PH...

modern motherboard for centos-5
...and crawling more firmly into bed with the Beast, I'd prefer to avoid ASUS boards. I see that NewEgg has some combo deals at reasonable prices, but I can't tell which chipsets/boards are known to work with centos5 and which aren't. Just at random, here's one of their offerings, a Biostar board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138143 I've always understood Biostar boards to be cheap, not only in price, but perhaps they're serviceable? I'm open to other suggestions, too. Thanks in advance! -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.u...

Cummerbund differential expression data analysis package issue
Hi all, I'm having the same issue as in this previous post: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/R-error-td4200447.html#a4209042 And as another user of Biostar: http://www.biostars.org/post/show/42562/cummerbund-isnt-managing-cuffdiff-database/#42895 Whereby I'm trying to output cuffdiff data into cummeRbund, but it appears to be having issues with connection to a database (below). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this? Thanks!...

...nt which had a separate network interface card, but I would like to do it with integrated LAN. Trials with tftpd failed with error messages starting with 'PXE', and later I learned that tftpd-hpa is needed for the PXE protocol. But tftpd-hpa has not worked with either of two motherboards, a Biostar M7VKQ motherboard with a realtek rtl 8100 LAN, which uses the 8139TOO driver, and an Intel 845 BG motherboard with an Intel 82562ET LAN, which requires the eepro100 driver. At first I tried using the Intel as server and the Biostar as client, and, when that did not work, reversed the roles to se...

PXE-Boot fails after reboot with kernel 2.6.x
Hello list, I've been using PXE Boot for quite some time now and it has been working without any problems. I'm using a Biostar M7VIZ mainboard with a VIA KM400 chipset, and VIA-Rhine VT6102 NIC. Yesterday I upgrade the Kernel on my net-boot machine from 2.4.24 to 2.6.12. When I power on the machine it boots up normally. However, when I reboot the machine, the mainboards PXE-ROM only displays "PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel...

Nvidia Driver and CentOS-3
Ok, Well I have narrowed it down to my mother board. It is a Biostar mother board with an NForce2 chipset. I have the Nvidia driver working on my home machine which is and Asus board with an NForce chipset running CentOS-3 and the Nvidia driver works fine. It has to be the NForce2 Chipset that is no good. I have tried updateing bios, Kernel and Xfree. There i...

cpuspeed on centos 5
It appears as cpuspeed is not running on my centos 5 box(s). One is a biostar motherboard Am2 6400+ the other is Asus am2 4800+. If I do "service cpuspeed stop" it says OK, If I do a "service cpuspeed start" is says OK. However at no time is cpuspeed running. /proc/cpuinfo only shows the cpu running at 1000 Mhz. If I manually run "cpuspeed -C &amp...

I really hope that you can do me a great favor to share your points about how to explain the coefficients for drug A and drug B if run anova model (response variable = drug A + drug B). is it different from running three separate T tests? Thank...

IOMMU and AMD 890fx
Hi, All the reviews for the AMD 890fx chipset reported that it supports IOMMU v1.2. But I cannot find any mention of that on AMD site. Does 890fx support IOMMU? Do 890fx motherboards with IOMMU exist? Does Xen support 890fx?
