One difference would be that some FC6 packages are likely to be newer than the corresponding CentOS packages. The upcoming 5.2 release should help in this respect. Please report results and consider adding to the Wiki MigrationGuide page if successful. Phil

Something like this; karan.org/blog/index.php/2005/06/15/upgrading_to_centos4_over_a_remote_vnc_c but with adjustments. You would still need to look for orphans, and the usual things. Maybe if you backed up configs and data files and removed as many packages as you could to minimize the hassle. Even though RHEL5 is based on Fedora 6, I think the package freeze was about mid-cycle, and Fedora kept evolving after the freeze. -- MailScanner is like deodorant...
